The "Elia" hotel complex is located just outside the village of Meronas, in the Amari valley is ready to offer you the famous Cretan hospitality. It is a newly built complex in an attractive location, harmoniously integrated with its natural environment.
The original name of the village was "Elia", which means "bright" and "sunny". Hotel Elia's location offers spectacular views and the caves in the area are of great geological interest. Along the lovely streets and foot paths of the village you will find archaeological monuments and famous Cretan products that make up the healthy traditional Cretan diet. The hospitable and friendly mood of its residents makes the village of Meronas a unique and special destination.
The surrounding countryside with its dense vegetation is ideal for walks, excursions and other alternative activities.

The "Elia" hotel complex consists of six identical, two-room, fully-furnished units with all the modern comforts: fireplace, central heating, air conditioning, TV, internet, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Every studio can accommodate up to four people: the seperate bedroom has a double bed and the other room has a sofa that can be turned into a double or two single beds. Every unit also has a view over the valley of Amari and Crete's highest mountain, Psiloritis.

The "Elia" hotel complex has a taverna with serves only traditional Cretan dishes, using the finest ingredients the local area can provide. The Amari valley is known as furtile region which provides fresh meat, vegetables, cheese produced in the local cheese factory, olive oil and of course wine and raki.
During the summer months, the pool and the bar offer you fresh delights.
The cellar of the complex can supply you with local, home-made goods such as wine, raki, honey, olive oil, herbs and desserts.

The village of Meronas has an active and lively community and the local cultural association organizes events all year round that will bring you closer to the way of life and the traditions of the residents.
You can visit the archaeological monuments, the byzantine churches (Panagia), the caves of Agioi Deka and Mygiospilio, while in the centre of the village, there are the two springs (Pagaliani and Mesochoriani) that refresh the passersby with water. In the wider area you can visit the gorge of Patsos or the dam of Potamoi.
Further afield there is the historic monastery of Arkadi, which is only 13km away from Meronas. You can also visit the archaeological sites of Monastiraki, Thronos, and Veni or walk in the mountain areas of: Psiloritis, Samitos or Kedros.
